(Some\u00adtimes sim\u00adply bring\u00ading down the beat rate from one known style to a much lower num\u00adber is already enough to coin your own vari\u00adety.) Look\u00ading at the fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_electronic_music_genres\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">list of gen\u00adres<\/a>\u00a0iden\u00adti\u00adfied and described on Wikipedia (but not find\u00ading the quaint Syr\u00adian elec\u00adtronic trance-jazz fusion on my speak\u00aders), I was sud\u00addenly relieved to have found\u00a0NOequiv\u00ada\u00adlent of this obses\u00adsions to qual\u00adify, diver\u00adsify, iden\u00adtify and label in the land of pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adphy. How\u00adever, it would have been fun to invent a name for the hyp\u00adnotic and grainy pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adphy of\u00a0Sayed Asif Mah\u00admud\u00a0and oth\u00aders that are com\u00ading out of Bangladesh of\u00a0late.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beikey.net\/mrs-deane\/images\/2011\/10\/sayed2.jpg\" alt=\"sayed2.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"384\" \/><br \/>\nFrom\u00a0Tobacco Tale.\u00a0\u00a9 Sayed Asif Mahmud<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Although root\u00ading him\u00adself in doc\u00adu\u00admen\u00adtary pho\u00adtog\u00adra\u00adphy, with \u2014 in that neutered lan\u00adguage of the art grant speak \u2014 \u201ca pri\u00admary inter\u00adest in com\u00admu\u00adnity issues and the urban envi\u00adron\u00adment\u201d, Mah\u00admud is the author of images that rather lean towards much darker ten\u00adden\u00adcies of our per\u00adcep\u00adtion, as if want\u00ading to reach us beyond the clear light of rea\u00adson\u00adable argu\u00adments, at a more vis\u00adceral level, where the impact is stronger. Since my time lord, the Empty Quar\u00adter Gallery, is tak\u00ading over an edited ver\u00adsion \u2014 open\u00ading this com\u00ading week! -, I had to take a very good, long look at all the works by the over 80 par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants of that mam\u00admoth show, and some\u00adhow Mahmud\u2019s work stuck, despite look\u00ading very casual, infor\u00admal and almost hap\u00adhaz\u00adardly com\u00adposed at first sight. Hard to say what makes me say this, but I like the way it breathes.
